Interesting Computer-related Facts and Tidbits
- Sean's 1st Computer: 1977 RadioShack
TRS-80 - 4k memory, upper-lower-case upgrade, cassette-tape drive,
40-column thermal printer. Still boots.
- Sean's 1st Computer Gig: Student COBOL
programmer at Rockwell Intl in Northridge, CA in 1981.
- Sean's Favorite Computer: 1990 Amiga
2000. This was the first multi-media computer, and championed by the
likes of Todd Rundgren and others. Sean does not have a working one
anymore,
but this machine running Music-X around 1991 was his favorite music
production environment.
- Current Gear: As of 3/2009, Sean has a
couple machines at home - a whitebox running XP Home box in the
basement, a Win98SE/Linux/? test box that is currently mothballed, an
Amiga 1000, 2000 and 3000, and a Gateway laptop running XP Home.
- The XP box replaced the family Win98SE box that died as
soon Sean moved to Connecticut in 2003.
- The Win98SE/Linux test box has about 15 or so
partitions, and is used to test Linux and various Open Source packages
and concepts. It is currently mothballed.
- The Amiga boxes (1000, 2000 and 3000) are just an
attempt to get his old Music-X production environment back.
